Nasrid Palace

C. Almendro, 11, Villanueva de la Fuente

About this place

The Nasrid palace of Villanueva de la Fuente is one of the most surprising spaces in the town, a contemporary construction inspired by the Alhambra and conceived as an authentic transmission of the Arab essence through the architecture, decoration and atmosphere of the whole.

Its interest lies not in its age, but in the prolonged effort of aesthetic and technical recreation behind each of its elements.

This is a unique work within the Campo de Montiel region, capable of transporting the visitor to a visual universe where arches, moldings, friezes and ornamental designs evoke the Andalusian tradition from a deeply personal perspective.

The whole is the result of a long learning and creation process developed over twenty-four years, in which its author has been developing through observation, direct work with materials and the desire to imbue the entire space with an aesthetic inspired by the Nasrid world.

This dedication is evident in the constant pursuit of symmetry, the balance of forms, and the geometric harmony that orders the various corners of the building. The work also demonstrates extensive artisanal knowledge, combining carpentry, plasterwork, and masonry, applied to the creation of arches, muqarnas, moldings, and friezes that recall the working methods of Arab art, reinterpreted and adapted to this construction.

The visit allows one to appreciate not only the visual value of the complex, but also the human and artisanal dimension that sustains it. More than a mere decorative recreation, the small palace presents itself as the result of a master craftsman's vocation, capable of transforming wood, plaster, and masonry into a coherent language, full of details and nuances. Added to this is the expressive use of light and color, which reinforces the feeling of immersion in a space where every element has been designed to convey beauty, balance, and evocation.

Therefore, this visit offers a different experience within Villanueva de la Fuente, complementing its archaeological, religious and natural resources very well with a truly unique artistic proposal.
