Palace of Don Jeromito or Fernández Buenache

The Palace of Don Jeromito, also known as the Fernández Buenache house, is part of the outstanding collection of noble architecture in Villanueva de los Infantes.

Their presence within the historic center helps to understand the weight that certain lineages achieved in the urban configuration of the town during the Modern Age, when the main houses became a visible expression of family prestige and social rank.

It thus integrates into that landscape of monumental streets where shields, portals and balconies define one of the most recognizable images of the town.

Within the civil architecture of Infante, this building stands out for its facade, organized with sobriety and nobility.

It features a lower lintelled opening with moldings and a central heraldic emblem, while on the upper floor a balcony opens, crowned by a broken pediment that again frames the coat of arms. This composition reinforces the building's representative character and places it squarely within the preserved stately aesthetic.

Although the interior is not part of the regular visit, the building preserves elements of great interest, such as a large cave and one of the typical Infanteño courtyards that have best maintained their traditional aesthetic, with open upper galleries, Ionic columns and inverted footings.
