About this place
The Puerta del Corral alley is one of those corners that allow you to recognize the traditional architecture of Fuenllana and, in a broader sense, the historical physiognomy of the towns of Campo de Montiel.
This is the typical stable front and entrance of a modern period house, an access linked to domestic and agricultural life that helps to understand how the houses and their auxiliary spaces were organized in this region.
Although it is currently renovated as the entrance to a house, the building's primitive origins and initial function can still be clearly appreciated.
Their interest has also been reinforced by the Dedication of this space to Cervantes and Don Quixote on the occasion of the 4th Centenary. In this way, the alleyway adds to its ethnographic value a cultural and symbolic dimension that links Fuenllana with one of the major literary references linked to the Campo de Montiel.
The visit thus allows one to discover not only a characteristic element of traditional architecture, but also a small tribute to Cervantes' memory in an environment charged with identity.
