Oratory of Saint Thomas

The Oratory of Saint Thomas, also known as Saint Thomas, It is one of the most unique enclaves in the historic center of Villanueva de los Infantes.

It is a small building probably erected to commemorate the beatification of the saint in 1618 or of his canonization in 1658, and features a structure that combines ashlar in the lower part with masonry and brick in the upper, topped by a bell gable. Its portal is one of the most attractive elements of the building: it is organized into two sections, with a lintel entrance and a Baroque decoration in which the pilasters, garlands of fruit and the cartouche with the inscription stand out.“Oratory in the Aguados house, Year 1713”, which reinforces the historical personality of the group.

The visit is especially recommended because it allows you to understand a more intimate and devotional side of Villanueva de los Infantes, beyond its grand churches and palaces.
