Torrenueva is one of the historic towns of the Campo de Montiel region and clearly retains the character of a town linked for centuries to the Order of Santiago. Its location, in contact with important transit areas and within a territory marked by agricultural activity, helps to understand the importance it achieved in the historical organization of southern Campo de Montiel.

History of Torrenueva

The town was part of the Major Commandery of Castile, along with other settlements in the territory, and appears linked to a context of great strategic interest during the Late Middle Ages.
