The San Isidro area and the Laderas de la Virgen recreational area form one of the most pleasant walking spots in the Montiel region. Located at the point where the town center meets the slopes of La Estrella Castle and the Segurilla Valley, they offer a chance to explore a landscape of rolling hills, groves, small streams, and traditional paths.

The interest of the place lies not in grand monumental architecture, but in its value as a space for community life and local memory. San Isidro evokes the agricultural calendar and the pilgrimage of May 15th, while the Laderas de la Virgen (Slopes of the Virgin) connect with the devotional route to the hermitage of Nuestra Señora de los Mártires (Our Lady of the Martyrs), patron saint of Montiel, built on a hillside and surrounded by a cool environment next to the Segurilla River.

The PR-CR 96 trail, "Trail between Hermitages," traverses this area with minimal elevation changes and connects the Hermitage of Santo Cristo de la Expiración with that of Nuestra Señora de los Mártires, incorporating points of interest such as the Molino de las Huertas (Mill of the Orchards), the Puente de la Soledad (Bridge of Solitude), and the municipal washhouse/watering trough.
