Hermitage of Christ

The Hermitage of Christ of Villahermosa is located on Avenida Castilla-La Mancha, at one of the entrances to the town center, directly linked to the local religious processions. Its location is not accidental, as the Palm Sunday procession of the Entry into Jerusalem (La Borriquilla) begins from this point, making the building an integral part of the town's religious and festive traditions.

The building adheres to a well-defined model within local devotional architecture: a small, square-plan structure with a hipped roof. It is built of masonry, leaving the materials exposed and reinforcing its simple and functional character. This configuration creates a compact volume with great formal clarity, devoid of complex additions or prominent partitioning, maintaining a direct reading of the space both inside and out.
