Route description
One of the most beautiful and highly recommended routes in the entire region. Ideal for all ages, it runs through the heart of the Campo de Montiel, linking four historic medieval sites in a territory steeped in history, marked by the presence and power of the Order of Santiago.
Stop 1. Torreón de Puebla del Príncipe
A perfect and easily accessible starting point. This fully restored tower allows you to climb to the top, where spectacular views of the landscape and the beautiful town center of Puebla del Príncipe await you.
Stop 2. Aben Yusef Tower
Now converted into an interpretation center of the Order of Santiago and the Campo de Montiel, it is especially interesting to see the recreation of the old winery, the tools of the time, the rooms on the first floor and, above all, the impressive views from its upper floor, from where the whole territory could be dominated.
Stop 3. Albaladejo Castle
Located in a pleasant park, the castle ruins have become an ideal spot for relaxation. It offers stunning views of the surrounding area and is the perfect place to stop along your route, right in the middle of your journey.
Stop 4. Montiel Star Castle
The grand finale of the route. A guided tour of approximately two hours to the impressive archaeological site of the Castle of La Estrella, including the walls, the keep, and the church within the complex. A monumental and exciting way to conclude this route steeped in history.

Baroque Art Route
During the 17th and 18th centuries, the Campo de Montiel region was one of the areas of greatest artistic ferment in Castilla-La Mancha. Renaissance Art Route
The Campo de Montiel region boasts one of the most remarkable collections of Renaissance architecture and visual arts in Castilla-La Mancha. Throughout the 16th century, the economic prosperity fostered by the Order of Santiago and a flourishing local nobility financed churches, Plateresque portals, Mannerist altarpieces, and stately homes that still stand as the most visible testament to the region's splendor. It was also in this landscape that Fernando Yáñez de Almedina, a direct disciple of Leonardo da Vinci, was born.
